LOCAL LAW RELATED TO PARKING (including winter regulations)

Description:

PLEASE FOLLOW THIS LAW, ESPECIALLY DURING THE WINTER MONTHS, SO THAT OUR HIGHWAY CREW CAN SAFELY REMOVE SNOW.

 

Local Law #1, 1999

 

Section 1 - Definitions. A. The words and phrases used in this local law shall, for the purposes of this chapter, have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by Article 1 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the STate of New York.

 

Section 2 - No Parking on Walkways. Except in an emergency or when directed to do so by a police officer, no person shall park or stand or cause to be parked or stand any vehicle owned or controlled by such person upon any sidewalk or walkway in the Town of Hadley.

 

Section 3 - NO PARKING NOVEMBER 1 - APRIL 1. During the period November 1 through April 1 of each year, no person shall park of stand or cause to be parked or stand any vehicle on any public road in the Town of Hadley, except in case of an emergency or when directed to do so by a police officer.

 

Section 4 - Violations. any person found guilty of violating any of the provisions of this local law shall be guilty of  a violation and shall be subject to a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00).

 

B. Any vehicle parked in violation of this Local Law may be removed by the Town to a safe location and stored until retrieved by the owner of the vehicle. Said towing and storage shall be a the expense of the owner of the vehicle, and shall be paid by the owner prior to retrieval of the vehicle.
